Hello Everyone!As you've probably already guessed, my name is Haley, and I am the face behind Haley's Bakeshop! I am a 26 year old, Certified Pastry Chef, with a love for cakes and a passion to learn all that I can. I graduated with high honors from the Pastry Arts program at Macomb Community College where I also earned my degree in Business Management. I started this business in late 2012, just to keep my family updated with some of the things I was baking as I was going through school. During that time I took classes such as sanitation, plated desserts, artisan breads, and cost control. To date, I have only taken one introductory cake class, which was mandatory for the my degree, and the rest of my skills are self taught. I have been making cakes part time since mid-2014, did my first wedding cake in July of 2015, and have been constantly researching and teaching myself tips and techniques to improve my skills even more! I never thought my business would grow so quickly, but I am beyond blessed and thankful for everyone that has helped build my business, and cannot wait to see where it goes! Thank you all so much! |
My History |
From the time I was 5 years old, when being asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, the answer was always a "cake baker." It all started from baking what we call paska, or Ukrainian Easter bread. Every year, my mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and I would bake dozens of loaves, and hand them out to family and friends. Seeing how much everyone loved them always made me happy, and I knew from then on, I could make others happy with the talents that I have!

With my love for baking and my willingness to learn more, I am on a mission to create works of art that taste great, look amazing, and bring smiles to peoples faces. One day, I hope to open a brick and mortar bakeshop so that I can work full time doing what I love and be the "go-to" place for custom cakes!
